Tresillian family care aims to providing patient help line for parents and carers. they provide stays, emergency occasional care, residential support clinics and a child care centre. the staff help with how to handle your new born babies and what you should do when babies show emotions etc.
community nurses are of help where they check kids from new born to the age of 5.
Karitane is another community agency that provides support, guidance and information to families that need help with parenting. the Karitane agency offers service an all day all week help line service and give tips for how to handle parenting. they provide places to stay and care for pre and post natal depression carers or mothers.
The health services are a great, with organisations that help and support parents and children with the needs in order to guide the family to a better start of parenthood. they have help lines and services within them that can attend to the needs of the family at all times.
Welfare Services:
Provide services to help meet the needs carers, parents and families.
Groups that can help within welfare organisations are:
This welfare service are good sources of help for parents as they provide so much help in regards to counseling, stay and even affordable clothes for the baby and family, helping with finances.
Parenting Groups: this includes an association such a Multiple birth association that help parents with births of kids of either twins, triplets, quadruplets pr more. This mainly is due to the use of IVF.
There is also services such as parent line. It is a free service for people who require or need information on parenting. there are trained professionals and staff that help guide parents with how to handle children and adolescents. It helps the parents/ carers with how to deal with their behaviors as well as help them develop personal skills.
there is the Australian breastfeeding association which offers support and help to those who want to breast feed but cant.
there are other groups Such as single parent family association, Father for family equity, the foster acre association NSW, interrelate family and life Relationships Australia, parents without partners and a lot more other service groups. I believe these are amazing groups as they really bond with the personal needs and feelings of parents regardless what situation they are in.
Community Groups: Offer services to parents and children to meet their parenting needs. Churches, charities and other spiritual groups can offer spiritual and financial support to families in need or who are experiencing illness. Charities such as meals on wheels prepare meals and deliver them to people who have difficulties preparing balanced meals.
i believe that community groups are okay for gathering together to get some sort of help but wouldn't be a recommendation. They are great help for support with advice and counseling.
Government Agencies:
Department of Community Services proved family assistance, youth, child and people with disability, support.
Centrelink is also helpful as it offers information and help on ways to financially keep stable and maintain their money. This can be by applying for certain payments from centrelink such as Parenting payment, Family Assistance, Child Support, Tax benefits and Carers Allowance.
The Department of Industrial Relations hep support families and guide them to balancing work and family expectations so that they can get a start to a better life that enables them to provide for their family.
I personally believe government organisations are of great help. they support families financially and are a government organisations meaning government funded.
Childcare Services: Child Care Services provide care for parents while they are at work. This is like day care or pre school, offering educational program before children begin school. Children can also be cared for in homes of registered carers or family day cares that can be around in your local area or close to where you would work.
Other services include child vacation centre, before and after school care, occasional care and nannies.
it is good that there are services around for children to be looked after but it is a financial issue. these days it costs way to much to get a nanny or have a child put into childcare therefore parents prefer to put the care of their children with a trustable family member as it is cheap, affordable, trusting and creates a family bond.
Care Support Groups: These groups specialise in offering advice and support for carers. A range of government welfare and private agencies are also provided for counseling and supporting families that need help. Support groups help people share their experiences, feelings and concerns they have so that they can be helped with guidance from others. These groups can also provide essential home repairs such as safety ramps for kids or support rails etc. There are groups around that also allow parents or carers or individuals to attend daily activity that allows to socialise and get help from people that share the same experience.
These groups are like families they help and they are always there, however it doesn't allow you as a parent to bond with your child/children to sort things out and make things better. It slowly distances you out or it may help you however i would not recommend the care support groups as it is more of an individual attendance rather than with the child all the time.
