FOUR STYLES OF PARENTING
The authoritarian parenting involves one or both parents making all the decisions and rules which involves instructing and directing the behavior of the children.
Children with an authoritarian parent hardly receive and positivity from the parent or carer and hardly any reward is given for instructions followed. If the child does not meet the expectations required of them they are punished thus affecting the child's emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing. This can cause problems for the child to effectively bond or make positive relations with their parents in fear of consequences. This can also effect the child's decision making skills, as the authoritarian parent makes all the decisions for them.
- Authoritariane
- Democratic/authoritative
- Permissive/indulgent
- Negligent

The democratic parent:
The democratic parents encourage the child/ children to take responsibility for their own actions and make their own decisions.
Their are a lot of goal settings and rewards for the children indicating that they have done something right as well as being a positive guidance to the child.
punishments and rewards are discussed between parent and child/children so that the child/ children have a clear view of what is expected of them in order to receive a reward and what they should do to avoid punishment. this improves the physical, socieoemotional and spiritual wellbeing of the child as it guides and allows the child to grow and learn into a comfortable environment.
- characterised by all family members having equal rights and participate in decision making as a family.
- have trust in their children and are able to bond well
- parents are confident with decisions and actions they make

The permissive is characterised by supportive and tolerant parenting with the parents having little control over their child/ children.
Children don't take responsibilities such as housework, caring for others around the house, handling pocket money and have little opportunity to develop independence.
The parents usually let things roll the child's way not the parents way, giving in to the child's demands.
T he child/ children don't create a bond with their parents affecting the communication skills within the family.
Children can become very self indulgent, self centered, rebellious and disobedient. heir are no consequences and even if their is the child is very aggressive and does not listen to the parents or carers.
This can affect the physical, sociemotional, spiritual, economical and political wellbeing of both parents and children. Their are no rights or responsibilities within the parent or child/children.
Their is no positivity within the family. Economically the child takes advantage of getting pocket money from parent/carer and does not understand, respect or value of what they get which can be socieoemotionally and spiritually disappointing. If the child does not get what they want they show and react negatively which is physically negative towards others within the family. impacting on the wellbeing of both the family and individual.

Negligent parenting means that parents fail to take responsibility for their children's actions and behaviors.
The neglect of children occurs when parents have failed to attend to the needs of their children and set out standards as well as limits for their children's actions or behaviors.
Child can become:
Most of the time for the child's behavior to turn out as stated above is due to the negligent parenting where the parent has failed to show the love and support needed from the child, hence child feels neglected and the need to become aggressive etc.
A child's behavior is also effected by the environment they are brought up in such as a physically abused environment or drug abused environment. Child could also be in an environment where they have been sexually abused which is very traumatizing which leads to the use of drugs and alcohol as they grow up.
The Departments of Community Services (DOCS) have the rights to then remove your child/children and put them into a better care with the help and facilities provided to attend to their needs as well as help with their physical/emotional/mental state.
