Every parent or carer has the right to:
Therefore if parents and carers handle their rights well they are able to get through situations with their children without hurting them physically or emotionally. e.g. a child hit another child. you would not hit your child telling them it is wrong. you would tell them know and explain to them what they did wrong. it would also prevent the child from being physically hurt and emotionally. Thus demonstrating and teaching their child behavioural skills.
Parental and carer rights also help guide their children spiritually by helping them recognise what is right and wrong, what are the positives out of completing a task well, which helps develop oral values and skills. e.g. asking your child to ay sorry for something they have done wrong. if they don't say sorry which would be the right thing to do if they have done something wrong, then put them into a time out session until they learn to say sorry. If they have said sorry show them comfort and love telling them it is okay and that saying sorry for what they have done wrong is good.
Economically these rights can help parents and carers financially support their children so that they can be looked after with their needs met, having an education and to be financially support especially if the child/ children need specially medical requirements.
