Having a baby is a step to very important decision in which both partners should be emotionally, socially, financially and especially physically prepared for. Here are some tips on what you and your partner can do in preparation for a baby.
Both partners should be fit and healthy and having a balanced diet in preparation for a baby so that there will be high chances of a healthy baby being developed and born.

Types of food intake:
- Plenty vegetables(especially green veggies, broccoli, carrots, spinach) as greens are high in folic acid that contributes to he build of DNA cells. Insufficient folic Acid can cause spina bifida or neutral tube defects
- Fruits(mangoes, avocados, peaches, bananas)
- dairy products
- lean meat
- lentils and
- plenty water
- hi fibre foods- wholemeal food
- cooked fish and cooked seafood
Avoid foods such as :
- Processed meats such as ham, salami, sausages
- Raw chicken- like chicken or any meat rolls
- Sea food such as chilled prawns, oysters, raw fish, salmon
- Sushi- as it is easily to attract bacteria affecting you and the baby
- Highly salty food as they can cause high blood pressure
- Soft serve ice cream and fried ice-cream
- NO alcohol or drugs at all
- Soft boiled eggs
- Caffeine drinks
- Stuffing from chicken or poultry as
Other physical preparations are:
- anti-natal visits to see how the baby is growing and how the mother
- regular excerise is needed to maintain physical health. this includes activities such as yoga.
- should give up on smoking
- avoid contact with supports that can risk in injury or falling over
- take blood tests to make sure everything normal such as blood pressure, iron levels etc.
- women should check their immunity for rubella and get immunisations just in case otherwise it could cause brain, sight, hearing damage in the baby.
- Most importantly sleep is essential.

- not being around people with the same intellectual capacity( being with a child all day continuously)
- miss social contact with colleagues and friends
- being pregnant or after birth can cause frustration, stress and/or affect family relations
